Sessions are usually conducted on a weekly basis during Wednesday and Friday. Students are encouraged to utilize the referral system if they need to speak with Mr. Dean. Though I try my best to see every student as soon as possible, there are times when crisis situations will restrict my time. Each student's needs are important and Mr. Dean will attend to these needs in a professional and safe manner. As with all information spoken with Mr. Dean, confidentiality is protected through client rights. Information students share with the school counselor is confidential. the student's right to privacy is guarded as much as permitted by law, ethics, and school rules. The school counselor is obligated to break confidentiality when there is a potential harm to the student or others, concern of neglect, or abuse, or a court of law that requires testimony or student records. The school counselor often consults with other school professionals, but only shares information necessary to achieving the goals of the consultation.
